For homeowners and renters alike, GACM partners with those experiencing a resolvable crisis by providing information and resources to help people help themselves. Our team of skilled social workers and trained volunteers share accurate information and creative options to address crises. Confidential assessments, budget reviews, and other counseling is key. Financial
As a community based, Social Service agency, GACM provides emergency rent and utility assistance. GACM can provide small cash grants to eligible residents. Residents who are experiencing a resolvable crisis and have exhausted public resources will be considered for a grant, which is awarded once in a 24-month period.
Food
Our Choice Food Cupboards provides users with canned goods, meats, eggs, and other perishable items to help prepare nutritious meals. At any given time of the year, available items include fresh, frozen, and other perishable items, along with canned goods and staples.
Utilities
As a Neighborhood Energy Center (NEC), GACM helps consumers keep their utilities on and affordable. We provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to energy and related problems for low and moderate-income consumers.
Counseling & Referrals
With a skilled staff and trained volunteers, GACM provides confidential assessments, counseling, and referral services to all Philadelphia residents. Our goal is to provide accurate up-to-date information that connects people with useful resources.
Education & Training
Do you ever feel you are spinning your wheels, expending lots of energy but making little progress? Are you managing day-to-day but not experiencing a sense of hope and optimism about the future? If your answer is yes, the THRIVE Certificate Program (TCP) might be for you.
Applications & Forms
With a skilled staff and social workers on duty, we can help you fill out the necessary forms to receive public benefits such as LiHEAP, SNAP, and utility assistance. Please fill out the contact form below.
